Da Vinci Helicopter

One of Da Vinci's most famous concepts is his sketch if a flying device, called an "aerial screw" but we'd call it a helicopter.  Of course, we know it won't fly, but the model offered here at The Obscuriosity Shop is a faithful construction of his design. Turn the crank to watch how it would have worked! It spins by the benefit of a clever pegged wheel and gear below, a design based of another of his sketches.

A fun little project to build and makes a great display piece.
