La Toupie Fantoches (pedestal)

La Toupie Fantoches (pedestal)

$ 48.00

La Toupie Fantoches is an Victorian optical toy invented by Emile Reyanaud in 1881, and it is a modification of his first invention: the Praxinoscope. It consists of four triangular mirrors that form a pyramid. The image disc is placed at the top, in such a way every drawing stays opposite to every mirror. Give the device a spin, and the drawings come to life!

Eight discs are accompanying the instrument with illustrations of the time
