This compass is a recreation of the type of compass used in navigation during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, based off the originals which are preserved in museums such as the Maritime Greenwich, the British Museum and the Naval Museum in Madrid.
It is made of wood and bronzed alloy, it is very strong and resistant does not need any maintenance.
 
The cover carries a rose of the winds in classic sixteenth century sailing style and its interior is engraved with Gothic filigree.
It comes in a wooden box also decorated with maritime motifs and is accompanied by a small booklet describing the origin and history of the compass.
